Alison & Skyler

This last weekend we did an engagement shoot for Alison and Skyler at Memory Grove. They are such a cute couple and we had a lot of fun shooting them. Alison is a friend of Jordan's family and will be getting married this summer in Tennessee. Congratulations you two!

Genealogy Restoration

This mother's day I went on a quest to discover for myself the mother's before me. I went to my Grandma Lusko and asked for all the genealogy she had on my Lusko family. I knew they were immigrants from Czechoslovakia and I knew that they eventually settled in Detriot, MI. Beyond that I knew very little. It has been such a beautiful journey finding out about my ancestors. I've been restoring old family photo's and can't help but long to talk to them. Looking into their eyes through these photos stirs such a great desire to do their temple work. The sweet reunion with them on the other side is a day that I greatly look forward to. Below are a few favorites I've finished. Restoring these photographs has been a pure delight.
This is a family photo. My grandpa is the youngest in the picture on the left.
This picture is of my great uncles. They all served in World War II and saw some of the heaviest action. They all returned home safely.
I love this picture. I feel like each one of their personalities is show cased here perfectly.
This is my Great Uncle Frankie. The back of the picture reads, " From son Frankie to the sweetest mother in all the world."
My Grandpa is such a stud! No wonder Grandma couldn't resist ;)
 My Great Grandma Julia Lusko.
This is Great Grandma Julia (in the chair) and her sister Mary. Grandma Julia was sick.
 This is Great Grandpa Michael.
 "Mama" and "Papa"
This is my Great Uncle Red (Joseph). I never got to meet him, from the stories I hear he was full of life!
My Great Aunt Renee (Irene). She is so beautiful and one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met.

What I've found is that I come from a family built on love. There was hardship, heartache, bad choices, and at the center of it all was LOVE. Families aren't perfect, but they can develop a perfect love. Something that is forgiving, selfless, compassionate, empathetic, and never failing. That's what I want to pass on to my children. A Christ like love that is maintained for generations. I learned it from my parents, they learned it from their and so on.

I encourage you this mother's day to find the women (and men) that have shaped your family tree. Learn about them, honor them, and grow to love them as I have. I know they are smiling from where they are and are just as eager to meet me as I am to meet them.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY EVERYONE!
